BUFFALO, NY June 22nd, 2019 – Team BuildPay met and exceeded their fundraising goals for the 24th annual Ride for Roswell. The bike ride event raises money for Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY where BuildPay’s VP of Product Development and Marketing, Leah Hennessey, was treated for Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2016. Hennessey received a bone marrow transplant from an unrelated donor and has been in remission ever since.
BuildPay’s team of 15 riders set out to raise $30,000 toward cancer research that will help give patients access to clinical trials. On the day of the ride, the fundraising totals for the team climbed to $31,939, making Team BuildPay the smallest team to break the $30,000 mark!
A message from Leah:
“I want to extend a huge thank you to Team BuildPay and our supporters, as well as the riders and volunteers that helped make the Ride for Roswell a huge success this year. Watching the ride was inspirational to me when I was being treated, so it’s my goal to continue to give that inspiration back to the patients that need it now. I couldn’t have made that impact without the help of this team and our donors. Thank you.”
