I love construction. Move around dirt, shape sticks and stones with a bunch of regular guys and lasting testaments emerge. It’s a romantic business with roots right back to childhood Legos or a sand box like I spent early years developing my deep appreciation in. You’re outdoors, using your ingenuity, playing with mega-ton toys and physically winning wrestling matches with wood, concrete, stone and steel. It’s a living, breathing, big truck commercial.
The deep down truth is that nobody good at construction goes into it because it’s a great way to make money. Although it is potentially lucrative, it’s just about the hardest, most dangerous and financially risky way to earn a good living. At BuildPay we’ve talked to thousands of builders; weary and disenchanted from pursuing the money they’re owed for work they toiled to deliver. They all say the same exact thing, “I just want to get paid”.
There are a lot of technical, business reasons to start BuildPay but the reality is I created it to get back to the work we all love. To make construction great again.
